The Issue

Despite significant advancements in healthcare, many African communities continue to face systemic barriers to accessing life-saving treatments, driven by inequitable policies, limited availability of optimal health commodities, and a lack of meaningful community involvement in health research and decision-making.

What Communities Say

As a state, we continue to face substantial challenges in accessing appropriate nutritional supplements and support—particularly for

paediatric and adolescent populations, many of whom present late to care.

However, with the combined efforts of AFROCAB’s facility and community-level interventions, the strong advocacy from the CAB members, and increased collaboration with state and facility nutrition focal points, we are confident that these gaps can be addressed. Together, we can make meaningful progress toward eliminating AIDS-related mortality.

Says the  Executive Secretary of the Anambra State AIDS Control Agency (ANSACA), in Nigeria.
